For these reasons it is important to ensure that your choice of riding establishment meets formal criteria, some optional but some required by law. Polmartin Riding is fully licensed riding establishment as required by law under the Riding Establishments Act 1964.
Polmartin Riding is a British Horse Society Approved Establishment we put horse and pony welfare along with client safety and satisfaction as our main priorities. We are insured for public liability and comply with the latest health and safety legislation, which means we uphold the scheme’s standards and ensure quality teaching.
We are also an approved BHS Place to Train which means we undergo an additional, more rigorous inspection. This ensures that our instructors can train students to the standard that we are recognised for; and that our horses are trained to a suitable standard for the work required of candidates at that level.
